World PCO Alliance 확대 구성
지난 2009년 IMEX 에서 아시아 7개 국가들과 함께 출범한 World PCO Alliance (이하 WPCOA)가 아프리카, 유럽, 아메리카 등 전세계 15개국의 회원으로 새롭게 확대 구성 되었다. WPCOA는 각 국가의 리딩 PCO들이 가입되어있는 국제적인 단체로 국제회의 성공개최의 노하우와 고객에 대한 서비스와 마케팅 능력 제고를 하나의 네트워크 내에서 공유하고 함께 성장하기 위해 만들어졌다.
WPCOA의 15개 회원들은 서로의 성공적인 업무능력 확보와 대 고객 최상의 성과를 내기 위해 각자의 국제회의 모범 사례, 서비스 품질 제고, 효율적 조직 운영과 업무 프로세스 방안에 대한 정보 공유에 동의하였으며 멤버쉽은 개인 또는 독립 PCO로만 구성된다.
현재 WPCOA는 업무능력향상을 위한 교육 훈련, 성공적 비딩과 최근의 컨벤션 기술, 산업 내 성공사례 및 지식 공유를 위한 회원 PCO간 직원 교환 등의 적극적인 활동을 시작하였다.
WPCOA는 한국, 중국, 일본, 인도, 말레이시아, 싱가포르, 타이완 등 7개의 국가에 의해서 최초 구상되었으며 보다 적극적인 활동과 정보교환을 위해 아시아를 넘어선 전세계적인 조직으로 거듭나게 되었다. 현재 5개의 PCO가 WPCOA 회원 승인을 기다리고 있다.
WPCOA는 AOS Conventions & Events Malaysia의 대표이자 ICCA 의 전 부회장을 역임했던 Mr. Anthony Wong을 회장으로 덴마크 International Conference Service의 Mr. Per Ankaer 을 부회장, 일본 Congress Corporation의 Ms. Kayo Nomura을 사무총장으로 하여 세계최대 컨벤션 산업 전시회인 2010 IMEX에서 두번째 회의를 개최하였다. World PCO Alliance의 총회는 매년 IMEX에서 개최할 예정이며 앞으로의 활발한 활동을 기대해 본다.
WORLD PCO ALLIANCE SPREADS its WINGS in AFRICA,
EUROPE and the AMERICAS
WPCOA was launched last year at IMEX 2009, with seven Asian members. World PCO Alliance has now spread its wings to include new members from Africa, Europe and Americas and are proud to announce that there are 15 Alliance Members. Known as World PCO Alliance this cohesive group was formed by highly motivated PCOs to capitalize on the efficiency of consolidating regional conference and event services within one network.
Currently the alliance comprises 15 members who have set out to exchange best practice, improve service quality and streamline operations and sales in order to maximize outcomes for clients and member PCOs. This will be achieved through pooling the expertise and resources of the alliance members.? Membership is currently based upon invitation only and comprises private and independent PCOs.
World PCO is already actively involved in staff exchange for training, sharing information for bidding, sharing current technology, addressing client referrals, exchanging knowledge and supporting and sharing best industry practices.
This initiative was conceived by seven members from China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. As information about the proposed alliance became better known in the PCO industry founding members and potential members met at IMEX and agreed upon the establishment of the global alliance.? Five more applications are currently awaiting approval.

World PCO Alliance is headed by Mr. Anthony Wong Group Managing Director of AOS Conventions & Events Malaysia who is the former Chair of ICCA Asia Pacific Chapter and former First Vice President of ICCA. Mr. Per Ankaer from International Conference Services Denmark is the Vice President and Ms. Kayo Nomura from Congress Corporation Japan is the Alliance’s Secretary.
The gathering at IMEX 2010 was the second meeting of World PCO Alliance and its Annual General Meeting will be convened each year at IMEX.
