On behalf of the Organizing
Committee of the 9th International
Congress on Nursing Informatics
(NI 2006), I would like to invite
you to join us in this exciting
event to be held on June 11-14,
2006 in Seoul, Korea. The International
Congress on Nursing Informatics
has provided a fine tradition
of offering state-of-the-art developments
in nursing informatics.
Nursing Informatics is the
all-encompassing term covering
the knowledge, skills and tools
that enable information to be
collected, managed, used and
shared to support the delivery
of nursing care and promotion
of health. It, thus, includes
e-health, consumer health informatics,
ubiquitous computing and the
rest of today's important themes.
Nursing informatics is about
people, the caregivers, using
technology to improve the service
they give to their clients.
The conference recognizes the
need for discussion and information
on the whole spectrum: research,
practice, education and policy
changes - providing the largest
nursing informatics conference
in the world. Presentations
will range from high-level world
wide standards to detailed technical
solutions. The range of topics
will reflect the nature of nursing
informatics.
I invite you to participate
and share your views as a paper
or poster presenter, tutorial
leader, panel/workshop member,
exhibitor, or participant. Please
follow the development of the
programme on the website, www.ni2006.org.
As we approach the event, it
will expand giving more details
about its structure and content.
NI 2006 is your opportunity
to meet other scholars and stakeholders,
to contribute and to learn about
how to make a difference for
the better. Please come and
experience the unique cultural
and historic heritage, warm
hospitality and tasty Korean
cuisine that Korea, the Land
of the Morning Calm, has to
offer.
