Climate
Korea enjoys four seasons and different types of weather : spring, summer, autumn and winter. Korea is located in the East Asian Monsoon belt. The peninsula has hot, humid summers and long, dry, cold winters. Spring and autumn are rather short, but very pleasant with crisp weather and many days of sunshine. Average temperature in October is around 13¡ÆC-19¡ÆC. The autumn period is a time of little rain and cool temperatures and might be the best time to visit Korea.

Incheon International Airport
Built on an extensive reclaimed tidal land between two islands, Incheon International Airport is situated 50km from downtown Seoul and conference main venue. It operates 24 hours. The code for Incheon International airport is 'ICN'.
Limousine buses may be the best way to travel easily, at minimal expense, to and from various points around Korea. Information and tickets are available at the Transportation Information Counters near exits No. 2, 4, 9 and 13 on the arrival floor of the passenger terminal.

Time Zone
The Korean Peninsula lies at the northeastern corner of the Asian continent between China and Japan. Korea uses one time zone and it 9 hours ahead of GMT, the same as Japan.

Citizens of countries which have reciprocal visa exemption agreements with Korea are not required to have a visa to enter Korea for a short stay. Usually visitors with confirmed outbound tickets may stay in Korea for up to 15 days without a visa. Citizens of all other countries must obtain a visa from a Korean embassy or consulate prior to entering Korea.

Korea's currency is called "won". The exchange rate varies, but 1 USD is approximately 1,124 Won as of September, 2004. Money can be exchanged at most banks, travel agencies, and hotels. Major credit cards are accepted in most restaurants and hotels.

Emergency Numbers
